May 26th to 31st (10am to 4pm daily)Thorpeness Country Club is hosting an exhibition of archival photographs, documents and ephemera that chart the construction of the village, its idiosyncratic events, and the lives of its inhabitants. The exhibition hopes to capture the collective memories and experiences of the village, past and present.

Thorpeness Hotel and Golf Club on the Suffolk Hotels Guide
A unique hotel and venue on the Suffolk Coast originally built in the 1920's, it retains the atmopshere of a time gone by coupled with modern facilities.
The hotel offers 36 rooms including eight that are new and others recently upgraded. Some overlook the Meare, gardens or golf course. There are two bars, a restaurant, drawing room, snooker room and a library.
Close to Thorpeness beach and in Aldeburgh there are self catering apartments, cottages and houses sleeping from two to ten guests. All are individually furnished to up to a four star standard.
Adjacent is Thorpeness Country Club, a popular wedding venue overlooking the sea. In the grounds are seven tennis courts and landscaped gardens. The famous 18 hole golf course is popular and playable all year round. Built over gorse and heather countryside it is a challenge for even the experienced golfer.
