Have you ever wondered how collectable teapots are made? A visit to this unique pottery will show you these world-renowned teapots being created and hand painted.

After watching our expert craftspeople at work, why not browse around our pottery shop where you can be sure to find the teapot of your choice.

Watch Our staff making teapots

From the viewing area, you can watch our highly skilled staff take teapots from the moulds, paint them and place them in one of our 5 kilns.

Our teapots are not only sold throughout the UK, but over 70% of the pottery’s production is exported worldwide. As a courtesy to our many overseas customers, we fly their country’s flag on the day we are making their teapots. (Production is only on weekdays.)

Paint it at the Teapot Pottery

Enjoy painting your very own teapot at the Teapot Pottery!

Relax in the friendly atmosphere and create your own design. We will glaze and fire the teapot for you, to give it a professional finish. You can return after a few days and collect your creation, or have it posted to you.

Private parties and evenings catered for - please contact us to enquire.

The studio fee is £5.50 per person and the pots range from £2.00 – £30.00.

Booking is not normally essential but preferable!

Have a cup of tea in our tea shop

Complete your visit with tea or coffee served in our new conservatory, selling homemade cakes and scones. It will come as no surprise to find the tea is served in one of our own teapots!

About Carters Teapots
All our teapots have been designed and made by us in the beautiful medieval village of Debenham since 1978.

Each teapot is individually made, therefore no two teapots will be identical. Slight colour variations and brush strokes all add to their uniqueness. All our teapots are functional and can be used for making tea – some are more practical than others!

Our teapots make wonderful gifts and we have a mail order service available - please click on the 'Visit Website' link above for more information. If you phone or email us, we personally take care of your order whether a trade customer or retail customer.

Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm
Saturdays & Bank Holidays 10.30am – 4.30pm
Closed Easter Day
Sunday 2pm – 5pm in School Summer Holidays but please call to check.



How to find us

The pottery is situated at the southern end of the High Street in Debenham, set deep in the Suffolk countryside.

Follow the brown tourist Teapot Pottery signs to the Teapot Pottery which is situated in Low Road, with parking available.
