The Aldeburgh Beach Lookout, 31 Crag Path, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, IP15 5BS
Create your own artwork this Easter. This Easter Holidays - come to Aldeburgh Beach Lookout, wander along the beach and collect found objects, creating your own artwork as did Peter Blake RA. Like Duchamp, the famous pop artist Peter Blake uses the found object in his art. Peter came to Aldeburgh and found pebbles, wood, shoes and other flotsam and jetsam on the beach. He made a work of art which is on view in the Lookout and for sale - A Walk Along Aldeburgh Beach. All over the Easter you are invited, whatever age, to walk along Aldeburgh beach and find your own objects. Then make your own work of art by placing them artfully on the plinth in the Lookout and Instagram your photo of this artwork to all your friends. Local Suffolk artist Susie Joyce will also be exhibiting her work as part of Duchamp 100 Years Later. It is 100 years since Duchamp presented his infamous urinal Fountain, to the art world. This act of iconoclasm changed the history of art by allowing artists complete artistic freedom and because it posed serious philosophical, artistic and social questions about the nature of artistic creation, which are just as relevant today.
