On March 6th 2007, HighTide became the world's first producing festival of new plays, opening to the public in the Suffolk market town of Halesworth.
The Festival is now entering its fifth year, taking place between
28 April and 8 May. Each festival programme is made up of the core theatre productions, as well as an ancillary programme of platform discussions, film screenings, and workshops.
There have been four HighTide Festivals in Suffolk. Primarily based at The Cut in Halesworth and spread over three auditoriums - the Main House, Studio, and Gallery, HighTide Festival has also produced work at Aldeburgh Music in Snape, and in site specific locations in Halesworth.
