Ipswich Tourist Guides provide a fascinating range of guided walks for the public around the town. With a range of regular Guided Walks around Ipswich from 1st May to 30th September and special walks from January throughout the year. See information below:
1st May to 30th September (Regular Rota Walks)
Times: 2.15 p.m
Ticket prices: £4.00 per person
Tuesdays and Thursdays, occasional Saturdays, Sundays and some Summer evenings.
Walks normally commence at the Tourist Information Centre and have a duration of approximately 90 minutes.
Ipswich Tourist Guides also arrange special walks throughout the year. These include a very popular programme of Afternoon Tea Walks from January to April and extra walks during Suffolk Walking Festival in May each year. Please see Events section for details.
Childrens Walks are held regularly throughout the school summer holidays.Tours can also be arranged for schools to complement a variety of subjects in the National Curriculum.
Armchair Walks are illustrated talks given by an Ipswich Tourist Guide at the host venue. Booked through the Tourist Information Centre there is a selection of titles to choose from. The cost is £50 for a one hour presentation.

Afternoon Tea Walks
We start our 2018 programme of 'Afternoon Tea Walks' on 18th January. Why not wrap up warm and join us for one of our themed walks each ending at a local cafe for a hot drink and a slice of cake? Walks start at
2pm, the total cost, including refreshments, is £8 per person and the walks continue on selected days through to 25th April (see dates and themes below). Full details available from TIC. Advance booking essential.

Walking with the Angels
To complement the exhibition of superb bronze angels commissioned by Cardinal Wolsey and currently on loan from the V & A, (details below) Ipswich guides are offering guided walks around the town visiting the sites particularly associated with Ipswich’s most famous forefather. A public tour will take place on :-

To book a group walk for your club or society, contact the TIC on 01473 258070 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost is £4 per person with a minimum charge of £40. Parties are limited to 20 people per guide.
If walking is a problem you may like a guide to visit your venue to give an illustrated talk about Thomas Wolsey, his birth place and the exhibition. To make a booking contact the TIC as above and the charge will be £50.
Wolsey’s Angels are in Ipswich
On loan from the V&A, the bronze angels that Cardinal Wolsey commissioned to adorn his tomb, along with many of Ipswich Museums’ rarely displayed Tudor objects, will be on show in Christchurch Mansion 14th Oct 2017-11th Mar 2018
