The Suffolk Food Hall opened at the beginning of May 2007 and has quickly established itself as a centre of excellence for local food and drink. Winning a number of awards, most recently Best on Farm Butcher in the UK.
Conveniently located just a mile south of Ipswich and within minutes of the A14/A12, the Food Hall brings together several businesses under one roof providing an outlet for the best local quality food & drink. It is stunningly situated within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and its Samford Restaurant enjoys panoramic views down the River Orwell.
The concept of the Suffolk Food Hall started to take shape in 2005. As farmers, Oliver and Robert Paul were frustrated that consumers had limited and often inconvenient access to much of the fantastic food produced locally. Hence they set about creating a Food Hall as a showcase for quality local produce with provenance.
They have teamed up with a number of specialists to offer a butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer, baker, wine merchant, beer cellar, restaurant and cafe, so with the adjacent Bourne Garden Centre provide a great day-out for the whole family. There is even a kids play area and bouncy pillow to keep the little ones happy.
