Description

Welcome to The White Horse, a 17th Century Grade II listed inn with restaurant, large beer garden and camp site in the picturesque village of Tattingstone, Suffolk.

This former village coaching inn has lost none of its classic look over time and indeed still retains much of its original character.

Inside, black beams, brick features, a log-burning stove and a bench seat set in an inglenook paint a delightfully traditional picture and create a warm, relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy good food, a drink or sit back and unwind.

The carved white horse which stands atop a tall pole outside the inn was rescued from a hotel in Ipswich.

Another interesting external feature is the old hand pump which stands in front of the inn. For many years it supplied the inn with water from a well.

Throughout the year, the White Horse plays host to a number of events including a Classic Car Rally.

Opening times:
Monday to Thursday 12-3pm, 6-11pm
Friday and Saturday 12-11pm
Sunday 12-10.30pm

Food served:
Daily 12-2.30pm, 7-9pm

Beer and Wine
The White Horse serves a range of cask ales and lagers plus a selection of ten or more wines by the bottle or glass.

Along with a good selection of draft and bottled beers and ciders there are up to four cask ales on offer, usually including Nethergate's Prior Mild, Adnams Bitter, Woodforde's Wherry Bitter and the award winning Brewers Gold from Crouch Vale Brewery.

Acoustic music sessions take place on the first and third Sunday of every month. Call Andy and Caroline on 01473 328060 for further information.

Camping and Caravan Site
The White Horse has a small caravan and camping site at the rear of the inn.

The facilities include a toilet block with washbasins, an outside tap for drinking water plus electric
hook-up for caravans. (Please note that at present there are no showers.)

The site can accommodate a number of tents plus up to five caravans.
