Welcome to the King’s Head, Laxfield (Adnams Pub of the Year 2010)
The King’s Head (The Low House) is one of the very few pubs left in Britain that has no bar-counter. You go in the tap room at the back. Beer drinkers survey the array of barrels and request whatever takes their fancy, drawn straight from the barrel, while others can order whatever you usually have. Before you reach the barrels, you pass through a room dominated by an ancient fireplace. Old settles, polished in parts by the backs and bottoms of the long dead, surround it in a U-shape, with a table in the middle. Another room, also called the tap room, likewise has one large table and bench seats around. This is a social pub. If you want to be slightly less social you can go in the card room, which has small, separate tables and chairs, or the restaurant, but even there you may get into conversation with people to whom you have not been introduced!
We look forward to welcoming you to our Pub for great food, beer and comfortable accommodation.

Food
At the King’s Head we only serve real, traditional, home-made food, and, with much of our produce sourced locally, it’s always seasonal. We also have a specials board which changes regularly, so there’s always something new to try.
Our main meals can be light or hearty, meaty or vegetarian, and being only half an hour from the coast gives us a big advantage with fresh fish. Pork dishes are something of a speciality too, with local meat from Lane Farm.
We will always try to cater for special requirements, and will cook to order for a party or special occasion. So whether it’s a light lunch or a celebratory dinner, we guarantee you’ll leave happy not hungry!

Beer
We stock the full range of Adnams Cask and bottled beers, along with draught Guinness, cider and lagers.
We are most fortunate that we serve our cask ales straight from the barrels and pride ourselves on the condition we keep them, earning us a considerable reputation. Our normal range of ales are always complemented with at least one, sometimes two, Guest ales. Adnams also brew several seasonal ales which we also stock.
