Description
Villa Farrelli is a stunning former farmhouse with its own private saltwater pool, situated in the Sibilini National Park
The Villa is set in the peaceful hamlet of Taccarelli (pop 10!), set in the Sibilini National Park, yet only 7 mins drive from two Medieval hilltop towns, Sarnarno, and Amandola. Farrelli is also only 20 mins from the ski runs during the winter, which provide fabulous walks in the summer, and 50 mins drive from the beach.
The Villa was built over 300 hundred years ago in traditional stone and brick, which makes it beautifully cool during the summer and cosy during the winter.
The house was fully restored in 2007 to a very high standard, and retains original features including beamed ceilings throughout, and has an informal feel, with plenty of natural light. The property had 5 spacious double bedrooms (4 with single beds joined for flexible sleeping arrangements), 3 of which are ensuite and the other two share a bathroom which makes them ideal for a family. The 5th bedroom is on the ground floor which makes it ideal for those who want a bit of privacy or who don’t want to use stairs.
Downstairs the property has a spacious hall, a very large sitting room with three 3-seater leather sofas, a 32 inch TV and DVD and a large area for reading and/or playing games. There is a cloakroom off the hall and the kitchen is fully equipped to an English standard, with a 6 gas ring hob, new electric oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and well stocked crockery/cutlery/utensils. The utility room contains a washing machine and plenty of storage space, as well as a drinks fridge.
Outside there is a large tiled terrace for al fresco dining and a 10 x 5 metre salt water swimming pool in the 2 acre garden. At the bottom of the garden is a small wood, and by the house is a large outside purpose built BBQ. The garden is very private and the views are stunning.
For shopping and restaurants there are two medieval hilltop towns equidistant from Villa Farrelli, each a 5-7 minute drive away. Both are gorgeous and offer a range of shops, restaurants and bars. Sarnano offers spa baths too for fabulous relaxation, as well as a large weekly market in the square. The other local town is Amandola which also has a very pretty market square full of life, lovely cafes, boutiques and restaurants. In the summer months fairs, festas and festivals are in constant competition around the local towns, and evening summer markets abound.
The Le Marche region is known as the undiscovered Italy and the new Tuscany as it is rich in history and beautiful scenery but short on commercialisation. Le Marche is authentic Italy, not the Disney version that some other areas of Italy have become. Consequently it is unspoilt, excellent value for money, has some great beaches (Conero National Park, San Benedetto etc) as well as mountain outdoor activities such as para-gliding, mountain biking and quadmobiles. The best beach is at San Benedetto which is a 55 minute drive, which is a fashionable resort with many seafood restaurants and bars. There are also several less developed beaches in the area. The historic town of Ascoli Piceni is an hour away and is well worth the stunning drive – Ascoli contains two of the loveliest Piazzas in Italy.
Ryanair Fly from Stansted to Ancona daily, and from other destinations too.
