This large, comfortable B&B is a re-furbished Edwardian house south of Leiston town centre and has been open since February 1999.
Our aim at Field End is to make your stay as comfortable as pleasant as possible.
The house is fully centrally heated and the bedrooms are double glazed. The bedrooms and the guest lounge/dining room are available all day.
Field End is open all year.
Breakfast is chosen from a full menu in the private dining room - local produce is used whenever possible. Simple and vegetarian diets are fully catered for.
In the Lounge/dining room are games, cards, jigsaws and a radio for your entertainment. This room is immediately below the Family Room and is equipped with a baby-monitor and is ideal for use by parents of small children in the evenings.
It is regretted that no pets are allowed - except guide dogs.
NO SMOKING anywhere inside the house.
ACCOMMODATION
There are two en-suite rooms. Other rooms have private bathrooms and shower rooms.
Well behaved children from the age of 6 months are welcome! A high chair, camping cot and baby listening monitor are available. The family room has one double and one single bed with space for a quality Z bed or cot for children. Please add £5.00 per night to the Family Room rate if your child is over 12 years. Childen under 12 years are charged half the single price when sharing other rooms with an adult.
All the rooms have hand basins, remote controlled colour TV, alarm clock/radio, shaver point, hairdryer and a courtesy tray providing a range of teas, coffees and biscuits. Fresh milk is available on request. Three double rooms have DVD players. A payphone, iron & board and trouser press are also available.

LOCAL AREA
Area Field End is an ideal centre from which to explore the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
Just 5 miles from RSB Minsmere, 2 miles from RSPB North Warren and 6 miles from NT at Dunwich, Field End ia a good base for birdwatchers and walkers. The beauiful heathland and coast are very close by as is the Suffolk Coastal Walk.
Dunwich is the former capital of East Anglia and is seven miles distant with the pretty village of Westleton en route.
Leiston is twelve miles from the seaside town of Southwold with its old world charm and beach huts which can be hired in advance. Ten miles away is Walberswick, a popular haunt for artists and home of the World Crabbing Championships . Crabbing is a fun pastime for old and young alike!
Orford and Framlingham both have splendid castles to visi. Rendlesham Forest is ideal for cycling and walking its several trails.
Snape Maltings, home of the Aldeburgh Festival, is five miles away. In August there is the Snape Promenade season and there are also many recitals and concerts throughout the year. There are crafts, furniture, antiques, books, plants and clothes shops at the Maltings together with a coffee shop and pub. Boat trips can also be taken from here.
Aldeburgh is just over 3 miles away, a quaint seaside town, the former home of Benjamin Britten.
Only 2 miles away is Thorpeness, a seaside town with a Mere and rowing boats for hire. There are two coffee shops and a craft shop.
Also in the area are golf courses, horse riding, sailing and cycle hire. Bikes sholud be booked in advance during the busy season. Bikes can be locked away at Field End each night.
There are many good restauants and pubs close-by, some of which welcome children in the evenings. It is advisable to book in advance and table reservations can be arranged when booking your room. A folder of sample menus and a leaflet about places to visit are availalbe in each room to help you plan each day in advance.
