October Conservation Month - Stepping into winter - Throughout October

A fantastic opportunity to discover the conservation challenges faced by National Trust staff in looking after the collection and the building.

There will be conservation information and demonstrations around the house and a special exhibition of all the weird and wonderful cleaning materials that we use.

So if you have ever wondered how we keep our floor looking so shinny, what we use a cotton bud for, or what those strange little blue squares around the house are, then now is your chance to find out!

Focus on putting the house to bed and the winter clean.

Trafalgar Day at Melford Hall - Sunday 17 October, 1.30-5pm

Join us for an afternoon of children’s activities celebrating all things naval.

For the grown-ups there is a talk delving into the naval history of the Hyde Parkers, the battles they fought in and what life was like during the hey-day of the British Navy.

Something for all the family.

Normal Admission, Talk £4.50 including refreshments.

Big Draw - Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October, 1.30-5pm

Take part in the national Big Draw event at Melford Hall. A fantastic opportunity to ‘get drawing’ both inside and outside the Hall – what is your favourite item or view? Pick up some paper, get inspired and draw!
Normal admission

Last Open Weekend - Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October, 1.30-5pm

Last chance to see the house before it closes for winter conservation work.
