Anneke Scott (natural horn) & Steven Devine (piano)
6.00pm
St Mary’s Church, Boxford

“Songs of Love, War and Melancholy” celebrates the launch of Anneke Scott and Steven Devine’s new disc (Resonus Classics), and includes original works by Jacques-François Gallay, a musician considered the last great natural horn virtuoso, and his contemporaries Czerny, Rossini, Mendelssohn and Moscheles. These virtuosic compositions are all strongly influenced by both opera and lieder and their compositions support Gallay’s firm belief that the natural horn was “another voice which sings”.

The “Songs of Love, War and Melancholy” tour visits a number of venues across the UK that boast historic pianos by makers such as Érard, Pleyel,
 Broadwood and Blüthner which partner
early 19th century horns by Raoux.

The Royal Connection
7.00pm (pre-concert drinks from 6.30pm)
School Chapel
Come and listen to Handel's Coronation Anthems. These were his first commission as a British citizen. To be invited to write the music for George III’s Coronation was a great honour for Handel and he did not disappoint. The opening to zadok the Priest has to be one of the greatest moments of suspense and anticipation in music - it is pure theatre. These amazing vocal masterpieces will be partnered with Handel’s sacred solo cantata, Gloria, only attributed to Handel in 2001, and an Organ Concerto, celebrating the renovation of the Chapel’s Choir Organ.

A fine and uplifting programme to finish the 2014 – 15 Music at RHS concert season.

Jackson Live in Concert
7.30pm
The Apex
Michael Jackson is not only remembered as one of the most influential artists of all time, but many of today’s artists have been inspired by his iconic style. His career spanned nearly five decades of music, and he was continually at the forefront of popular music.

Jackson Live in Concert sees long-time fan and hugely talented Ben recreate the Michael Jackson experience with his stunning rendition of all his favourite songs.

Ben’s portrayal of Jackson has to be the most accurate and exciting tribute to the King of Pop to have ever toured UK theatres. Ben is joined on the stage by his Incredible Band and Dancers who work their way through all the hits. He’s got the look, the moonwalk and the voice! His renditions of Thriller, Beat it and Billie Jean are truly sensational.

Jackson Live in Concert features all-live vocals, superb musicians and dancers, fabulous costumes, and of course all the signature dance moves associated so fondly with the undisputed King of Pop. Pure MJ!

This is it! This is as real as it gets. Jackson Live in Concert is so much more than just a tribute show - this will be a performance and an event that audiences who witness it will remember forever.
