Carols by Candlelight with the Locrian Ensemble

The Locrian Ensemble are firmly established as one of Britain's most popular touring groups. They have a host of television and film credits to their name and have recently topped the classical charts with their playing for Debbie Wiseman's BBC TV score of Wolf Hall.

They enjoy a formidable international reputation (Evening Standard). Their Christmas show is the hottest ticket in their calendar. In lavish period costume, and in front of an evocative candlelit setting, these charismatic performers perform favourites including carols, string medleys of familiar christmas tunes and seasonal surprises.

They are joined by the evergreen Jill Washington, West End star soprano of Phantom of the Opera, who sings tunes from Handel's Messiah to White Christmas, the 12 Days of Christmas and Walking in the Air, accompanied by shimmering strings and thrilling harp playing. An evening with Mezzo Soprano Clare Presland at The Athenaeum and The Angel Hotel.

The Angel are offering a pre-show, two course, dinner for £20 a head and, following the recital, drinks with Clare in the Wingspan Bar, located in the 12th Century vault under the hotel.

This is a fundraising event to support Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.

These extremely talented musicians are becoming renowned for their beautiful harmonies and creative new arrangements. Musical precision and spontaneity are to be expected.

We are delighted James is making a rare solo appearance. He visited previously with the late Ralph Jordan and John Dipper as Patterson Jordan Dipper, and still works with John. James and Ralph began performing 40-years ago as Silas, and spent nearly 10-years with the powerful and popular supergroup, Crows. Very excited that Crows are reforming and coming to the Everyman in April 2018!
