Oakleys is a fifteenth century cottage nestled in the tiny hamlet of Foxearth, three miles from Long Melford near the market town of Sudbury in Suffolk.
Cosy and romantic, it has many authentic period features such as a huge inglenook fireplace in the living room housing a wood burning stove, tudor brick floors and timbered walls and ceilings yet offering modern living standards such as underfloor heating downstairs. The large, atmospheric dining room is supported by a well equipped kitchen with induction hobs, two ovens and a large American fridge freezer.
Upstairs the period authenticity continues with sloping ceilings, oak and pine floor boards and very comfortable beds that are all made up with Egyptian cotton linen. The bathroom has a walk in shower as well as a bath.
Oakleys is dog friendly and the back garden is enclosed with a high brick wall with a sun trap terrace or if you prefer some shade in the summer take a stroll amongst the shrubs and fruit trees or rest on the additional lower terrace under the pergola.
For a small housekeeping fee you may book our private sauna house which has its own walk in shower and we will provide fluffy robes and extra towels as well as unlimited use, the sauna house is installed in the old wash house in the garden.
There are many beautiful country walks from the front door or if you want to explore further afield there are many visitor attractions in the area.
