Located on the outskirts of Long Melford, Willow Trees farm shop sells as much seasonal and local produce as possible, and it is all superb quality. There are cheeses and chickens, cakes and breads, as well as classic frozen vegetables and ready meals. Willow Trees also stock a wide range of locally produced jams and chutneys, oils and sauces, and they are well worth a visit during the short asparagus season for a taste of those alone!
The Russell generation have been living at Willow Tree Farm since the 50's. What used to be a quiet farm rearing chickens and growing vegetables for local greengrocers, has steadily grown to a stable converted to a busy farm shop - providing the local community with carefully sourced fine foods, garden media and winter/summer fuel.
The farmer and his wife (Mike and Deb!) have expanded the shop, gradually over the last 30 years. More recently, renovating a 200 year old barn which is to become extra shop space.
As the business continues to expand, as do the staff numbers. Willow Tree Farm Shop employs son Matthew and several other local part timers. At busy times, many other family members are called upon to help muck in!
We are fortunate to have a good regular customer base, some of which have been shopping with us for over 20 years. We listen to their requirements, one of which is a coffee shop - who knows, maybe this will be the next challenge??
