Suffolk Best Food Region
According to Rose Prince of The Telegraph
in her review of Britain's best delis, markets and farm shops, Suffolk is the BEST REGION in the UK!!
(We knew that but it's good to see it recognised by others!)
This is what Rosie says -
"This is a county where, if you only scrape the surface, you will find enough food to fill you to your ears. Villages still have small butcheries; roadside honesty box sales of honey, eggs, vegetables are typical; and fishermen sell their catch from beach huts. The richness of Suffolk is not an accident. Locals are loyal to their independent shops and have fought to keep the superstores out. Each year in late September, the county's great produce is celebrated with a Food Festival in Aldeburgh. Look out for it. "

Alder Carr Farm also receives an honourable mention under BEST FRUIT & VEG. This is what she says -
"I admire this fruit farm enormously, not just for the Hardingham's seasonal soft fruit, but for the year-round supply of ice cream made with generous quantities of raspberries, blackcurrants or gooseberries. "
