Suffolk Tourism

Suffolk Tourism provides a much needed source of revenue for the county as a whole as well as for individual businesses providing services for the tourist sector. These businesses range from our leading 4 and 5 star hotel Groups, such as Hintlesham Hall our finest restaurants, (eg The Great House in Lavenham through to Bed and Breakfast Accommodation providing one or two bedrooms, and self catering accommodation. Here in Suffolk there is a wealth of attractive destinations, including many pretty towns - Lavenham, Long Melford, Needham Market, Clare, Sudbury, Woodbridge....the list goes on and on, as well as some very fine historic houses such as the Guildhall in Aldeburgh and the many National Trust in Suffolk properties, including Ickworth House.

Consequently Suffolk tourism is one of the leading contributors to the county's economy, and it is growing every year as people begin to discover this unspoilt area. Although very well known for events such as the world renowned Aldeburgh Festival and towns such as Lavenham, Suffolk tourism extends much further. For example, the pretty town of Clare in the west of Suffolk offers regular antique auctions, traditional shops (including a hardware store called Huggies which has to be seen to be believed; there is nothing you can't buy in that ironmonger), fantastic pubs, as well as a very Ancient House built in 1473!
