Description

A chic yet sympathetic refurbishment combines to offer a unique experience in this traditional watermill, along with years of history in an idyllic 12 acre rural setting near Newmarket and Cambridge. If you’re looking for something more than the usual hotel, restaurant or meeting venue, then you may have found it. A unique environment, a genuine passion for great food and wine, the ultimate in bedroom comforts and discreet yet attentive service.

Taste
Our talented Head Chef Paul Foster was awarded by The 2012 Good Food Guide as ‘Up and Coming Chef of the Year’ and as a ‘Young Chef of the Year’ by Observer Food Monthly awards 2011.
Paul Foster and his team have created an exciting, contemporary menu reflecting the chic yet rustic surroundings.
In the words of Jay Rayner (The Observer Aug 2011), “It's much harder to be good at being different and Paul Foster, who may well be one of the best young chefs you've never heard of, is doing different very well indeed.

Winter or summer inside or out? Choose the bar with the water wheel, outside by the pond or upstairs where you will find our much sought-after window tables with views back up the Mill Stream. The Race or Terrace Room, with it’s balcony, are both perfect for private dining.

Stay
Get away from it all – and stay in ultimate comfort. Our fifteen rooms are unashamedly designed to tempt you, from the over-sized beds right down to those all-important little details.

- Walk-in showers, indulgent baths, some huge double-ended stone ones (big enough for three), fluffy bath sheets and exclusive toiletries by Elemis
- Italian designed and sourced furniture, Bose sound systems and Loewe flat screen TVs
- 6 ft beds with full sprung mattresses, cosy feather duvets, extra large pillows and fine Egyptian cotton bed linen.

Meetings
The Terrace Room – our impressive private meeting room – offers the perfect venue for small meetings in a relaxed and peaceful environment.
The 5.8m x 6.15m fully air-conditioned room features a private terrace (8.9m x 3.0m), and comes ready equipped with everything you’ll need, from flip charts to cue integrated touch panel wall control.
