Doors open at 9:30am. Session times 10am, 11am, 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm & 3pm
Hadleigh High Leisure Centre

FunDancing holds an annual charity event and because we wiggle and giggle it seemed only right to call it a Wiggle-a-Thon. The format is 6 x 45 minutes of FunDancing routines (starting with a warm-up and finishing with a cool-down). You can take part in one or as many sessions as you want. Come on your own or as a group. The event is run by FunDancing class members who volunteer their time as does Janet who instructs each session, so that as much money as possible goes to the nominated charity. Registration is required see contact details.

Orwell Walk 2012
Gainsborough Sports Club

Making a Difference - Suffolk Charities gather to accept their monies raised by Ipswich East Rotary from the 2011 Orwell Walk
The Orwell Walk, which began in 1977 with just a couple of hundred walkers, is now the most successful fundraising campaign for Ipswich East Rotary club, to date raising more than £1.3m for local charities and good causes. Last year’s walk was attended by a massive 2,000 people, all raising money for their chosen charities.
This year’s route has changed due to the shock closure last year of Amberfield School which had been used as the start and finish to the Walk. Therefore this year, people are asked to make their way instead to Gainsborough Sports Club where there will be ample free parking and refreshments at either end of the new 2012 route. As in previous years, the route will be split into three; a 12 mile walk, an 18 mile walk and the whole route which is 25 miles. There are regular check points along the way where refreshments are available and volunteers from both Rotary and the St Johns Ambulance are on hand to lend support to any walkers who feel they’ve reached their maximum distance and need a ride back to base.
To mark the 36th Anniversary of the Orwell Walk, attendees this year are being encouraged to wear bright colours if they wish to, emphasising the colour they bring to the charities they support.
To find out more log onto Ipswich Rotary Club or call Norman Haines on 01473 215333.
