An Afternoon with Tinnitus Expert Professor David Baguley
2.00pm
Kesgrave Community & Conference Centre
Tinnitus is a condition that affects 10-15% of the adult population* and at this time there is unfortunately no cure.

At The Hearing Care Centre we have been working hard to secure the time of one of world's leading tinnitus experts to come and talk with us and give us a better understanding about what tinnitus is, how it affects us and where researchers are at in their quest to find a solution to the problem.

Professor Baguley's main research interest is in tinnitus, concerning both what insights it gives us into the human auditory system, and how it might be alleviated. He has over 110 peer-review publications and a PhD in Tinnitus from Cambridge University.

The event is being organised to mark the start of Tinnitus Awareness Week (8th-14th February), which run by the British Tinnitus Association to make people aware of the condition and the effects it can have on those who experience it.

Tinnitus is defined as the perception of sound when there is no external source present. While most people think of tinnitus as the traditional constant ringing in ears, the noise can actually be a hiss, a buzz, a roar, a click or any other internal sound.

Register your interest....

Places are free but only available on a first come, first served basis. Donations to the British Tinnitus Association would be welcomed.
Free - Bookings required

Ladies Day
7.30pm
Thomas Theatre, Kesgrave High School

KATS (Kesgrave Amateur Theatre Society) are one of the newest amateur theatre groups in the area but have already gained a good reputation for putting on a wide variety of productions. They have been involved in the last two Open Seasons at the Wolsey Theatre with their productions of Cheshire Cats, and Bothered and Bewildered, as well as the ever popular Vicar of Dibley production put on at the Thomas Theatre, all which received strong reviews!
They are pleased to advise that rehearsals are well under way for their next production, Ladies Day. This is an inspired piece by the renowned writer Amanda Whittington, which follows the work, love, and life for the fish-filleting foursome Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda. But their fortunes are set to change when Linda finds tickets to Ladies Day at Royal Ascot the year it relocated to York. Out go the hairnets, overalls and wellies as the four ditch work, do themselves up to the nines and head off to the races for a drink, a flirt and a flutter. If their luck holds, they could hit the jackpot and a lot more besides. This exuberantly up to the minute comedy with its Yorkshire heart and soul, has all the warmth of a Calendar Girls or a Full Monty but with less nudity!
They are also giving all ticket holders the FREE opportunity to win tickets to your own day at the races with tickets for Newmarket Nights this summer!!
Ticket Prices: £ 10.00
Box Office: 01473 612342.
