Last November to celebrate National Antiques Week, Homes and Antiques magazine and Antiques News and Fairs asked the public to vote for their favourite antiques business in the following categories: Best Antiques Shop, Best Specialist Shop, Best Antiques Centre, Best Vintage/Mid-Century Shop and Best Auction House. The finalists have been announced and we are delighted to have reached the top 5 in the ‘Best Antiques Centre’ category. The winner will be announced by Kirstie Allsopp at the Bath Decorative & Antiques Fair on the 8th March. Description
Situated in the heart of historic Woodbridge in Suffolk, the Woodbridge Antiques Centre has over 20 showcases full of little treasures from carefully selected dealers.
Here you are likely to uncover a variety of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian silverware including vinaigrettes, caddy spoons, snuff boxes, flatware and tableware, 18th, 19th and 20th century porcelain, a fantastic selection of fine jewellery, vintage costume jewellery and accessories including watches, bags, compacts and hats, with many stylish examples from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.
In keeping with the vintage theme are the amazing telephones, original, adapted for modern use and in full working order. We pride ourselves on the quality and variety of glassware from Georgian air twist stems and hobnail cut decanters, to traditional champagne bowls and the ever popular Lalique. Not forgetting the clocks, watches, brassware and treen, diversity is definitely the key at this centre!
