Friendly, comfortable and private B&B accommodation throughout the year in an 160 year-old cottage - once the home of the caretakers of the attached (now converted) Primitive Methodist Chapel.
Chapel Cottage is in the High Street of the attractive village of Yoxford, midway between Norwich and Ipswich and at the head of the scenic A1120 Tourist Route. We are ideally located for touring the East Anglian Heritage Coast, and for walking, cycling and birdwatching holidays.
We are rated as a four-star B&B by VisitEngland with their Silver Award for exceptional quality in all areas, and this year we received their Breakfast Award (given to fewer than one in ten B&Bs and guest accommodations) in recognition of the quality and choice of breakfast, service and hospitality.
Unlike other B&Bs in the area, we accept one-night bookings.
Guests have exclusive use of the self-
contained accommodation, which comprises two first floor bedrooms, one double and one single, sharing adjacent private facilities. Guests can enjoy the luxury of fresh white cotton sheets and duvet covers, feather pillows and duvets, and softened water for washing and showering. For relaxing, guests have their own sitting room in the parlour on the ground floor.
We do not let the accommodation to separate people, so guests do not have to share the facilities with strangers.
The Cottage has Digital TV/DVD/video in the parlour with a good selection of videos and DVDs, along with a small library. There are clock-radios in each bedroom, and tea and coffee-making facilities are provided along with a refrigerator to keep milk fresh. Internet access via our Home Hub is available for wireless-enabled laptops.
On arrival, guests are welcomed with tea and home-made cake, and a full English breakfast is provided which is made using fresh, local produce.
The Cottage is fully centrally-heated. In warmer months, guests can enjoy the private courtyard garden. Off-road parking and secure cycle storage are available.
For guests arriving by car, there is unrestricted street parking right outside the front door.
Please note: we regret that owing to the age and nature of the property we cannot accommodate guests with mobility problems, children under ten years old, or pets.
Due to insurance and safety restraints, we are not able to accommodate more the three guests.
