If you’re interested in Watersports and Sailing in Suffolk, then check out Alton Water Activity Centre on Suffolk’s largest reservoir. They offer a variety of courses from windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boards, dinghies, row boats and more. Plus, they have plenty of equipment available to hire, but experience is not always necessary! If you’re staying closer to Bury St Edmunds, then check out St Edmundsbury Sailing & Canoeing Association which is a small, family-orientated watersports club found 5 miles northwest of Bury St Edmunds at Lackford Lake. The Club runs a range of events, including dinghy racing, pursuit races, Royal Yachting Association sailing courses and coaching sessions for members. A mixed fleet of dinghies is available for hire to Club members.
Or, if you’re on the Suffolk Coast, then check out Iken Canoe at Snape, as they offer a small & helpful kayak and canoe hire centre located on the beautiful upper reaches of the Alde estuary, between Aldeburgh and Snape.
