Traditional good fun and fantastic dog show in one of Suffolk’s prettiest villages. Family and dog friendly. Entertainment, stalls, teas, barbecue, beer… Free Entry.

Sunday 4 June – Felsham Family Funday
2-5 pm. Felsham and Gedding Playing Field, Lower Green, Felsham Bury St Edmunds, IP30 0PP
An afternoon out for all the family. Come and pet the farm animals, have a go at a variety of rural crafts, show your dog in our fun dog show, and marvel at the skills of dog agility. Talk to the local farmer and take a close-up view of farm equipment you normally see only in the distance and have a go at milling grain. Enjoy watching the events in the central arena and join in with the egg-throwing and classic children’s games and races. Whilst waiting for the magic show, the children can have a go at the traditional village fete games, fairground rides and fun play equipment and make their very own mosaic to take home. And for those who have surplus energy come and bounce on the bouncy castle! Exhausted parents and carers can refresh themselves at the food hall; with beer, wine, and soft drinks to wash down burgers or hotdogs. (Vegetarian options are also available). For the more refined, relax with tea and cake or scones, jam & cream. Finish off with ice cream and Pimms…
FREE ENTRY, Activities cost, but all very reasonable prices to suit all pockets and families of any size. FREE PARKING ON SITE.

The Elveden Country Show offers incredible new and thrilling attractions, including exciting motorbike and horse stunts and beautiful World of Birds displays that intrigue many and keep the main ring bustling with spectators. We are continuing our support of small-scale producers and expanding our Classic British Bake Off and Food and Drink Markets, in addition to appearances by TV’s Celebrity Chef Alan Coxon. Visitors can enjoy insightful cooking demonstrations throughout the day and attend some of the many fascinating talks and browse the many local handmade crafts. In addition to all of this, children will have many things to enjoy, including Punch and Judy, our Petting Farm, Archery, Amazing Reptiles, Small Aircraft flying, and so much more. The beauty of Elveden Estate is illuminated by a massive Living History area and lovely music from the eight bands playing every day. We also feature some eventful shopping avenues, and visitors will be happy to be able to attend the Festival of Dogs here. Our furry friends will have so much to keep them happy, with more than 25 classes hosted every day to raise money for charity, which includes two main rings and dog agility classes. This show features thrilling demonstrations and a variety of distinct and fun displays, performances, celebrities, experts, and trainers.

Friday 28 July to Sunday 30 July – English National Sheepdog Trials and Suffolk on Show

The English National Sheepdog Trials are coming to Suffolk for the first time ever with 150 top dogs and their handlers in the beautiful parkland setting of Haughley Park, near Stowmarket. Alongside them will be Suffolk on Show, a celebration of what’s on offer in the county, including local food stalls, the Suffolk Baa, rural businesses, and demonstrations of countryside crafts and skills.
£10 in advance, £12 on the day. Children under 16, dogs on leads, and parking are free.

This fun event is now in its fourth year and is designed to entertain the whole family. If competing is not for you, then come along to spectate free of charge. Plenty of classes to suit all horses & dogs with the most amazing rosettes to be won!! Come along and join in the fun!

This year’s Walberswick fete has a nautical theme – look out for the cut-out sailors and pirates lining the Street as you enter the village. An old-fashioned family fun day at its best, our fete offers food and refreshments, a fun dog show, traditional fete games, donkey rides, interesting stalls, and hilarious family races. Funds raised go towards supporting the Village Hall and the Village Church.

The annual Fenland Country Fair promises superb, traditional rural entertainment for 2 days over the August Bank Holiday weekend. With free admission for children under 11, there are plenty of activities to keep young people entertained – riding the Steam Gallopers, archery, or watching the Vintage Parade. Canine lovers are welcome to bring dogs on leads, and there is an array of attractions for fans of man’s best friend, including a parade of hounds, terrier racing, and a gun dog demonstration. The RSPCA Suffolk East & Ipswich Branch is holding our annual Open Day & Fun Dog Show. Beyond the exciting Dog Show, there will be refreshments, a BBQ, tombola, raffle, candy floss, bric-a-brac, face-painter, bouncy castle, and a myriad of other stalls. Moreover, visitors will have the opportunity to meet some friendly animals looking for loving homes. Parking is at the Community Centre.
