Suffolk Aviation Heritage Museum

Suffolk Aviation Heritage Museum offers an opportunity to discover the vast aviation related history of the county. Including First World War landing grounds, Second World War airfields, important experimental establishments and Cold War bases, Suffolk has perhaps the most comprehensive aviation history of any county in Britain.

The Museum is located on the site of a Second World War Bomber Command wireless station and top secret USAAF Cold War communications centre. At the heart of the museum, the Suffolk Aviation Chronology, a unique art based project – and the only one of its kind in the world – highlights the evolution of aviation through the many hundreds of aircraft types and events associated with Suffolk.

Together with informative displays and special exhibitions, visitors are able to explore previously unrecorded aspects of aviation history.
