Water Meadow Cottage

This pretty cottage is Grade II listed with a newer extension offering family-sized accommodation. There are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. With a new bath and shower room upstairs and a second toilet/sink downstairs. The light, airy layout includes a large kitchen and a large cosy living room with a wood & coal-burning stove. To the back of the cottage is a long lawned garden with fruit trees and lots of wildflowers. It is fenced and safe for children and looks out onto the water meadows. To the front is another lawned garden and ample parking on the gravel drive.

The cottage is one of three converted from this 16th-century farmhouse, many years ago. There are beautiful oak beams in the original rooms.

Surrounded by fields on three sides, the cottage is ideal for a family with children and for nature lovers. You may well glimpse the beautiful white barn owl around the water meadow at the bottom of the garden where you will also see some beautiful Suffolk horses.
There are short, medium and long walks – for all sizes and ages of legs – right from the door.
At night, there’s no local light pollution and the sky is often amazingly starry.

Even in winter, the gorgeous East Anglia light, far-reaching views together with the smell of woodsmoke, make it a perfect getaway.

In a small hamlet, it’s a very quiet location. A car is recommended and there’s plenty of room to park on the drive. Bicycles are handy. The nearest pub is a 20-minute walk across the countryside. You can go by pony & trap in Summer!

5 minutes drive away is the pretty market town of Saxmundham which has a Tesco and a Waitrose. Saxmundham is 2 hours by train from London Liverpool Street Station.

The Suffolk coast is 15 minutes drive: Aldeburgh, Orford, and Dunwich all within easy reach.
