See the Museum of East Anglian Life, set in 75 acres of beautiful countryside, to experience the history and stunning natural world of East Anglia. A 15-building historic restoration project along more than 3 kilometres of woodlands and riverside nature trails will introduce you to East Anglian craftsmanship and Gypsy culture. This museum is a great indoor destination to visit on a rainy day.

Easton Farm Park

On a rainy day, Easton Farm Park has plenty of indoor activities to keep young children occupied. During the school holidays, there are craft workshops, among other undercover activities. The barns host so many different animals, and the farm offers sessions where visitors can handle and feed all the farm animals. If you’re not too bothered by wet soil, take on the Green Trail 30-acre walking trail across the vast green space of this wonderful place.

Craft Loft

Small groups, family gatherings, hen parties, and one-on-one instruction are all accommodated by the Craft Loft. Kentwell Hall

Kentwell Hall is one of the UK’s most incredible Tudor houses, with a distinctive element. It houses Suffolk Punch horses, long-horned cattle, Norfolk Horn sheep, British white cattle, and Baudet du Poitou donkeys, of which there are less than 60 in England and 800 globally. The magnificent gardens surrounding the house feature beautiful Yew trees, a pond rich in wildlife, and a contemporary hedge consisting of a Pied Piper Topiary. Visitors can enjoy refreshments and a light lunch at the Stable Yard Tea Rooms. The Hall is home to various events year-round, including Kentwell through the Ages, Tudor re-enactment, Magical Weekends, the world-renowned ‘Scaresville’, and both indoor and outdoor performances, making it a great choice for a day out with the kids.

Suffolk Punch Trust

Sutton Hoo

Archaeologists dug into one of eleven burial mounds on the Anglo-Saxon royal burial site of Sutton Hoo overlooking the River Deben in Suffolk in 1939. Visitors can stroll through Sutton Hoo to gain a sense of its history and significance in the past of Anglo-Saxon warriors.

Forest Fun

A trip to the woods may reveal some exciting archery, and children are welcome to join the fun. The Whitefriars Bowmen, who have been regular shooters in the woods for a long time, may frequent the Dunwich Forest on a crisp Sunday morning ([email protected]). It’s best to email ahead first to hire equipment or take lessons, as competitions are frequently held in the Forest.

Go Ape in the Thetford Forest is the ideal destination for a fun-filled family day out. It is a high ropes course with a variety of challenges and obstacles. Climb, swing, and traverse 50,000 acres of pine trees with Forest Segways. Alternatively, stay on terra firma. The Treetop Junior Adventure, however, is a great activity for children aged six and up. Renting bicycles and enjoying the walking and cycling trails are also available in Thetford Forest. Dog walkers can spend the day exploring the incredible forest while children let loose and have a great time with their friends at the multitude of playgrounds.

Lovely Farm Days
