The Wood Store, Orford

In the heart of the coastal foodie paradise of Orford, this architect-designed, single-storey detached holiday home is the perfect spot for a tranquil coastal escape.

Situated between the estuary, the castle, and the market square, this property brings the magic of the countryside and the tranquillity of the Suffolk coast together.

The Wood Store was constructed in mid-2017, and it is a delightful hideaway where the indoor and outdoor living have been wonderfully combined, as well as a contemporary wood-burning stove to keep you warm after cool coastal walks.

There is a table, four chairs, and a charcoal barbecue on the east-facing patio, which is next to the living room door and has a view of the water. There are a couple of steps that lead you to the rest of the garden, which is raised and therefore allows you to see the marshes; the lawn is mostly decorated with vegetable plots and flower beds, with a hedge shielding you from the road.

There is a path that runs down the side of the house to the patio and another that runs down the other side to the bedroom window, providing access to the bedroom. If you want to park at the castle, you may do so for a modest fee.

It’s different staying on a working farm than at a Farm Park, where there are many visitors, and the environment is always clean and well-suited for young children.
