If you are the parent on a true adrenaline-junky, take your kid to the Ipswich Anglia Indoor Karting, where you’ll find a full-sized racing circuit, Kubz Karting, suitable for children under the age of 8, and an exciting bouncy play area. Beacon Rally Karts, near Woodbridge, is also a fantastic place for five to six-year-old thrill-seekers to have fun at the outdoor circuits.

Mannings Amusement Park, Felixstowe, is also one of the best things to do with the kids in Suffolk and is the perfect place for a beachside day. Situated so incredibly close to the beach, Mannings offers a casino, a bar and cafe, crazy golf, and rides suitable for every age.

One of East Anglia’s most highly praised Elizabethan homes, Melford Hall, was Beatrix Potter’s favourite holiday spot where she used to sketch. A room in Melford Hall is dedicated to a variety of Potter memorabilia and further houses the original Jemima Puddleduck doll. Melford Hall plays host to numerous Treasure Hunts, Teddy Bear’s Picnics, Fun Days, and so much more for kids especially. Parents will also have lots to experience here, such as Guided Tours and Exhibitions, along with the beauty of the peaceful parkland and gardens.

Jimmy’s Farm in Ipswich is the perfect spot for a fun-filled day out with the family. Here, you can enjoy the Farm and Nature Trail and get some intel on pig keeping, farming, and nature in general. If the kids are up for a more strenuous activity, they can expel all their energy at the Adventure Playground, which welcomes both toddlers and older kids. Ipswich’s Suffolk Wildlife Trust offers more than fifty free nature reserves and a massive variety of wildlife events that make for a memorable family day out.

Nothing keeps young kiddos amused quite like trains do. The younger members of your family can enjoy a day of enchantment, learning more about engines. Suffolk boasts numerous wonderful attractions that will keep every family member entertained, from the ardent train enthusiasts to the smallest children.

Visit Colne Valley Railway at Castle Hedingham to discover a real English gem. This site welcomes the public on weekends and throughout all school holidays. Here, children and parents alike will love to experience old steam trains, the garden railway, and the still-functioning signal box first-hand. The site also offers a farm park where you can soak up the sun.
