We absolutely love this time of year down at the farm, all the animals are nice and cosy in the barns and if we are lucky we have an extremely special visitor come to visit - Farmer Christmas!
Farmer Christmas has taken time out of his very busy schedule tending to his reindeer to pay us all a visit. He will be ready and waiting on the following dates:- 2th- 4th December, 9th-11th December, 16th-18th December and 20th-23rd December from 10am until 4pm along with his animal helpers to see all of the good children. After checking his naughty and nice lists, he will also give each child a small gift. Please note there is no additional charge for children to see Farmer Christmas and, for these three weekends, the entry price for everyone visiting the farm is just £3. Under 4's go free as normal. However, we do request that if you would like to come and see Farmer Christmas please call the farm in advance to book your slot to reduce the queues and waiting times. After you've explored the farm, you can relax in the cafe over lunch or with a slice of homemade cake and a hot chocolate, or let the children run loose in our play area.

This year for the first time businesses in Long Melford will open later than normal to allow visitors to come and browse the eclectic array of independent retailers located here and enjoy some relaxed Christmas shopping in this historic village. The village shops will be open until 8pm and include independent gift and interiors shops, contemporary art and craft galleries, a haberdashery, a bookshop, a department store, antique & vintage shops, men’s and ladies clothing boutiques and much more. Following the success of the half-term Treasure Trail, we thought we'd do it again over the Christmas holidays! This time the theme will be well Christmas of course! Look out for the snowmen which will be hanging in shop and business windows up the Thoroughfare, round the Market Place, past the church and back round again. Don't forget to nip into the car park to see if there are any clues in the businesses there. There'll be a cash prize of £50 for the first correct entry. Entry forms will go on sale from Saturday, December 17th, and you'll need to get all completed entry forms back to Edwards by Wednesday 4th January to be entered into the draw. Entry forms will cost £1 and will be available from the Library, Edwards Restaurant and The Angel. All money raised will go towards the Halesworth Christmas lights fund.

Saturday 19th November 2016 - We are Handmade contemporary Christmas Craft and Design Fair
The Old School, Long Melford
With over 40 stalls, this event will offer shoppers a wonderful choice of beautifully designed and handcrafted gifts for Christmas.
Makers will be showcasing the latest in contemporary and vintage inspired handmade items, including jewellery, clothes, bags, pottery, soaps, cards, soft furnishings, home & garden-wares and much more. A full list of makers will be on www.wearehandmade.co.uk nearer the event.
There will be some exciting textile demonstrations by Norah Stocker from Fantasia Textiles. Norah runs a range of workshops and classes from her Coggeshall studio, including City & Guilds courses.
Visitors can sit down and enjoy some delicious homemade cakes with a cup of tea, all served in lovely vintage style crockery, courtesy of Plum Fairy who will be running the tearoom.

You will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of something warming to enjoy while you browse the stalls which will offer a variety of goods including cashmere scarves and gloves, jewellery, cakes, sweets, teas, chutneys and jams, dolls, collectable teddies, pottery, turned wooden items, artwork, candles, felted gifts and toys, cards, decorative and stained glass and much, much more....PLUS the chance to buy one - or two! - items from the delicious new Clare festive pudding range.
