Dog friendly Suffolk

Bring your dog to Suffolk with you – she’ll be delighted with the space she has to roam around, searching out pheasants and rabbits. A lot of pubs in Suffolk accept dogs and also many B&B's and hotels – there may be some restrictions on where Mutley can go within the hotel but generally she'll be most welcome. For a list of Suffolk Hotels that accept dogs please see Dog Friendly Hotels in Suffolk, for other pets allowed accommodation in Suffolk see Dog Friendly Accommodation in Suffolkand for a night on the town with the hound see Dog Friendly Pubs in Suffolk! And don't forget most local butchers will be happy to supply a large bone, probably free of charge or for a nominal 10p, which will keep the dog occupied while you take a well earned rest.

Several village fetes incorporate dog shows during the summer so keep an eye out for these. They may not be Crufts but they are a lot of fun for all the family. There might be prizes for the Owner that looks most like her dog (or v.v.), Most Lovable hound, Best of Heinz 57 Breed etc See What's on In Suffolk for a listing of up-to-date events and Suffolk Fetes.
One annual event to look out for is Suffolk Dog Day, featuring shows, classes and competitions. This is a fantastic fund-raiser for The Suffolk Foundation so the charity can help voluntary groups and organisations throughout the county. For full details and to book tickets please see www.suffolkdogday.com

So far the annual doggy fashion show held by Harrods, Pet-a-porter, hasn't quite reached Suffolk, and I haven't heard of any doggy weddings in the county yet, but watch this space!
