Description

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the county's largest voluntary organisation working on nature conservation and environmental issues - we work to create an environment richer in wildlife for everyone to enjoy.

Our work is funded by our members, supporters and grant giving organisations and we are part of a network of 47 Wildlife Trusts operating across the United Kingdom.

We care for over 50 wildlife rich nature reserves throughout the county, and the support of our 23,500 members ensure these remain free to visit.

Environmental education is a major part of our work and thousands of children visit our education centres every year and hundreds of families enjoy our wildlife events and activity days.

Over 1000 people volunteer their time and skills to the Trust and support all areas of our work across the county. Their commitment is key to our achievements.

If you are interested in finding out more about our work please email, phone or browse our website. The best way to keep up to date and support our work across the county is to become a member. Join today - membership costs just 50p a week for all the adults in a household.

Wild For The Weekend: Winter Ducks
Lackford Lakes nature reserve
14th & 15th February
10.00am to 3.00pm
This is the first of our Wild for the weekend events that will be happening throughout 2015. During these special weekends, the visitor team at Lackford Lakes will be providing visitors with different opportunities to show you some of our special wildlife that can be found living on the reserve. Each weekend will have a different theme giving you a different wildlife experience.

Take a closer look at winter ducks during this weekend. Look out for and listen to sounds of ducks as you wander around the reserve trails. Wildlife guides will be positioned at certain locations with telescopes allowing visitors an even closer look at the ducks that are around. Look out for duck facts on the information boards by the trails and children can pick up a winter duck themed spotter sheet from visitor centre.

Drop in throughout the weekend.

Venue address for the above event: Lackford lakes nature reserve, Lackford, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. IP28 6HX
