Suffolk looks forward to its premier festival this summer!

The Ipswich Arts Festival (Ip-art) has been the Town’s annual summer arts festival since 2003 and seen a developing and varied programme of events from visual arts, performing arts, literature, film and music. There is a new look this year – four weekends of fun and a lot in between!

Encompassing venues across the town and complementing Ipswich’s economic expansion by invigorating it’s cultural growth, the Ipswich Arts Festival has provided an exciting programme of arts for the people of Ipswich and beyond to enjoy that is both appealing and accessible to all sections of the community.

Ipswich Arts Festival aims to promote and encourage arts of the highest possible standard by bringing together a programme of events that offer equal opportunity for all sections of the public to experience and enjoy.

Here are some of this years festival highlights – –


Saturday 20 June 2015 – The Edgeriders Grind
From10.00am at Stoke Skate Park

An action sports based competition in Stoke Skate Park as part of the Ipswich Arts Festival opening weekend.

This will include a competition based around three sports (Skateboarding/BMXing/Scootering) which would then each be split into their own categories.

Wednesday 1 July 2015 – Pride and Predjudice
7.30pm Christchurch Mansion Lawn

Join the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons Theatre Company for this beautifully hilarious and delightfully innovative new open-air adaptation.

Tickets: In Advance: Adults £8.50, Concessions £6.50

Friday 3 July 2015 – Picnic in the Park
7.30pm Christchurch Park


A fun and varied programme of music from Handel and Bach to Coldplay and Lady Gaga
Traditional favourites mixed with a classical take on chart topping songs

With a grand finale Firework Display set to music

Saturday 4 July 2015 – Open Air Cinema
10am Ipswich Town Football Club

The special event kicks off on Saturday 4th July with Frozen (PG) at 10am. This is followed by perennial favourite Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (U) at 12.30pm and Avengers Assemble (12A) at 3.45pm, with even more heroes in evidence at Portman Road.

The Premier evening film, The Bodyguard (15) starts at 8pm.

Premium reserved tickets (with deck chairs) are £8.50, with children’s and concessionary tickets just £5.50 and there are discounts for ITFC supporters (using their customer numbers). Family tickets are £24. There is also a buy one, get one free offer on single tickets for the first fortnight of sales (ends Sunday 10th May).

If you have extra time and want to watch all three afternoon family films you can buy a day pass for £14 (adults), £9.99 (children) and £40 (families).

Sunday 5 July 2015 – Ipswich Music Day
12pm – 8pm Christchurch Park

Ipswich Music Day, one of the largest free one-day music events in the UK. The event will feature a selection of the brightest talents to be found in East Anglia and will span almost every type of music. The music will be performed across six stages and other performance areas – as well as classical performances in the Mansion and nearby St Margaret’s Church and Bethesda Church.

Admission FREE (minimum £1 discretionary contributions welcome – includes programme)

Wednesday 8 July 2015 – Much Ado About Nothing
7.30pm

The boys are back from war and it’s time for celebration; until villainous Don John decides to spoil the fun… Will Claudio and Hero fall foul of his plots? Will Beatrice and Benedick stop bickering and fall in love? Find out in The Pantaloons’ fast-paced, physical and funny new production.
