Beccles based Spotlight Musical Theatre Group are staging a musical adaptation of The Who's classic rock opera Quadrophenia, an East Anglia amateur Premiere, at the Public Hall, Beccles from 27th June to 1st July - Five shows The Who fans should not miss.
This musical adaptation, set in 1964, follows the life of Jimmy Cooper, a young Mod taunted by his Egos ''Lunatic'', ''Romantic'' and ''Tough''. A story of teenage angst, partying, riding scooters and brawling with Rockers! All Jimmy's dreams are shattered when he loses his girlfriend Steph to his best mate Dave and ''Ace Face'' is found to be a hotel Bell-Boy.

Please make a note in your diaries that the Party in the Park 2017 takes place on Saturday, 1st July in Clare Castle Country Park and will be open from 12 noon until 6pm.
There will be live music, Morris dancing, majorettes, games for children of all ages, stalls, crafts and demonstrations, falconry, a dog show, tombola and raffle, children's entertainment, donkey rides, petting animals, vintage cars, roundabouts, these are just some of the treats we have lined up for you to enjoy: a great day out for all the family in a lovely location.
There will be plenty of food and drink options including a hog roast and barbecue, a beer tent, strawberries and cream, pizzas, an ice cream van or two and a tea tent.
Entry is free and there will be extra free parking at Stour Valley Community School car park.

The Elveden Country Show will be bringing in many new and exciting attraction zones this year from amazing Horse and Motorbike Stunts to the wonderful World of Birds demonstrations with the main ring packed daily.
We will again be supporting small producers and adding to our Food and Drink Markets, the Classic British Bake Off and the fabulous Celebrity Chef Alan Coxon who can be seen on television regularly. Throughout the day there are many exciting cookery demonstrations and talk area’s packed full of interesting talks. We are very excited about our Rural Crafters, local and handmade with so many interesting demonstrations.
As well as all of this, there will be lots for the children to do and participate in from our Petting Farm, Punch and Judy, Archery, Small Aircraft flying and let’s not forget the Amazing Reptiles and much much more. New this year there will be a large Living History area which will suit Elveden Estate beautifully. The Show with something for everybody. There will also be 8 bands playing daily. We are delighted to have some pretty amazing shopping avenues this year as well.
The Festival of Dogs will be there again this year with many new and exciting things. With over 25 classes per day raising money for Charity which you can enter without registering as well as Dog Agility and two main rings, so much for all our four legged friends to do and participate in. The show will host live demonstrations across five rings which will have an array of interesting, different and fun displays, including performances by many professionals, celebrities, trainers and experts.

With over 40 stalls, this event will offer shoppers a wonderful choice of beautifully designed and handcrafted gifts for Christmas.
Makers will be showcasing the latest in contemporary and vintage inspired handmade items, including jewellery, clothes, bags, pottery, soaps, cards, soft furnishings, home & garden-wares and much more. A full list of makers will be on ww.wearehandmade.co.uk nearer the event. There will be some exciting textile demonstrations by Norah Stocker from Fantasia Textiles. Norah runs a range of workshops and classes from her Coggeshall studio, including City & Guilds courses.
Visitors can sit down and enjoy some delicious homemade cakes with a cup of tea, all served in lovely vintage style crockery, courtesy of Plum Fairy who will be running the tearoom.
